My name is Kelly and traveling makes me really happy.
In my opinion, curiosity (defined as “the desire to learn or know”) is one of the most important characteristics to have in life. I love visiting new places and learning about the local way of life. I’m particularly intrigued by the people I meet along the way. I also ask a lot of questions.
I grew up outside of Boston, MA but somehow managed to avoid picking up the accent that people love to hate. I’m a bit of a black sheep, coming from a place where most of my friends and family still live. Don’t get me wrong, I do love home. But I’ve always been curious about the world outside of New England.
Like many travel lovers, my study abroad semester (in Perugia, Italy) is how I discovered this passion. It is where I met my best friends, realized I did not want to teach kindergarten in my hometown, and came to understand that you don’t need a lot of stuff to make you happy. It is also where I learned that I have a terrible sense of direction, and my lack of spatial awareness makes me hopelessly lost…often. But I am at my happiest with a small backpack of the essentials and a plane ticket to somewhere new.
The travel bug has forever inflicted me and I’m so excited to see where it takes me next!
